Next was The Devil's Punchbowl, about halfway between Newport and Depot Bay. We caught it at low tide and thus missed the better show. There is also a nice beach full of giant seaweed right next door. There is a big hole in the rocks with a path out to the ocean. During high tide, water shoots in and up through the top of the Punchbowl, but we didn't see that. Due to the low tide, however, we did get to go inside the Punchbowl without risk of seeing the Devil for real. Just ignore the sign that says the path is impassable. There are also various critters who live inside the Punchbowl.

Like my inflatable smiley devil impersonation?
